Quilt Story Road Show for Shops

The nonprofit Quilt Alliance has been Documenting, Preserving & Sharing the history of quilts and their makers since 1993. To celebrate our 25th anniversary, we will launch Quilt Story Road Show, a new outreach and education program in the U.S. offered to quilt shops, guilds, museums and other community sites. We are booking stops on the tour now. This is a great lecture and demo format in-store experience to offer your customers that not only encourages labeling of new quilts, but also includes tips on how to be sure older, acquired quilts get the upkeep and documentation they deserve.

We also invite shops to partner with us to become a story collection site for our initiative–Go Tell It on National Quilting Day! Partners will receive free kits with instructions on how to record short videos of customers or staff sharing quilt stories in their shop on National Quilting Day (the 3rd Saturday in March). An easy, DIY way to put your shop on the map on this annual day to celebrate quilting!
