Highlights from QTM 2016: Sunday with Sponsors

Over the past 7 years of Quilters Take Manhattan, we’ve grown to know many of the amazing companies in the quilting industry who support the mission of the Quilt Alliance and our events. From fabric to fusible, they help make some of the coolest tools for quiltmaking, so we wanted a chance for the QTM audience to learn more about what happens behind the scenes and get to know our sponsors, too. This add-on event was held on Sunday morning, and featured Karla Overland of Cherrywood Fabrics, Iris Karp of Mistyfuse, and Mark Dunn of Moda. Learn more about all our sponsors here.

Don’t worry–we saved some prizes for all of you at home, too! Every home ticket purchaser was entered into a drawing for four prizes. Visit our Door Prizes page to see the fabulous prizes and who won them!

Each year at Quilters Take Manhattan, we offer add-on events for attendees to make the most of their time in Manhattan. This year, add-on events included tours of the garment district, a broadway show, visits to the 9/11 Museum, Brooklyn Museum, Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Whitney Museum, and more. Couldn’t make it to New York? Follow along from home! Check out some of those add-on events… virtually!

Highlights from Quilt Match 2016

Three professional quilters—Aleeda Crawley (aka Khaleesi Aleeda, Mother of Quilts), Chris Dodsley (aka Quilty Spice) and Mary Fons (aka The Fons)—battled for the title “Feather-Weight Champion of the Worrrld!” Each contestant had one hour to design a Manhattan Masterpiece. The Champion (watch below to see who won!) received a custom-made title belt made by artist Frances Holliday Alford and the ultimate bragging rights.
