This month’s puzzle spotlights a quilt titled June Is Bustin’ Out All Over made by Diana Ramsay of Asheville, NC for the 2010 Quilt Alliance contest and auction, “New From Old.”
Artist’s Statement
Old: Background fabrics are 1930’s reproduction prints. Foreground is flowers of coordinating solids. New: This quilt was made with techniques, materials, and approach to design that did not exist in the ‘30’s. As I worked on this quilt I found myself humming, “June is bustin’ out all over …” thus the name.
